PILATES INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
FPB is the only authorized training site for Balanced Body in the state
of Arkansas. Our teacher trainings are split up into bite sized modules
that are usually completed over the weekends and we offer trainings
throughout the year. Some students choose to do all the trainings in a
short period of time while others spread their trainings out. There are
a few different ways to approach training, but every Pilates
Instructor’s journey starts with the Movement Principles Course.
Apparatus 1: July 13-14 2019
Apparatus 2: Aug 10-11 2019
Movement Principles –Aug 24-25 2019
Mat 1– Sep 14-15 2019
Mat 2 — Oct 5-6 2019
Mat 3 — Nov 9-10 2019
Reformer trainings start again in Jan 2020 — Dates will be announced in the fall!
Consider this the prerequisite course to becoming a Pilates Instructor. It is required before taking any other training. This 16hr training covers anatomy, biomechanics, and 5 principles that create a foundation for safe, effective movement. The tools learned in this course will be applied and referenced in every other Pilates training.
To become a Mat instructor, a student must complete Movement Principles, Mat 1, Mat 2 and Mat 3. Mat 1 training will provide you will the tools to begin practicing and co-teaching right away, but in order to test out, you must complete all trainings, observation and assistant teaching hours.
To become a Reformer Instructor (to teach Reformer classes and Personal Training sessions), a student must complete Movement Principles, Reformer 1, Reformer 2 and Reformer 3. Reformer 1 will provide you with the tools to begin practicing and co-teaching right away, but in order to test out, you must complete all trainings, observation and assistant teaching hours.
In order to attend these trainings the student must have completed all Mat and Reformer trainings. There are 3 trainings in Apparatus: Ladders and Barrels, Chair and Tower/Cadillac. We hope to begin offering these trainings in 2020.
We recommend that students aim to become both Mat and Reformer instructors in order to give them more opportunities to teach, but students have the option to only do Mat or only do Reformer training.
